1,1'-[(2S,3S)-2,3-bis(methoxymethyl)-1,4-butanediyl]bis[3,4-dimethoxybenzene] is also called Phyllanthus white. Phyllanthusurinaria L. is a plant of the genus Phyllanthusurinaria of the Euphorbiaceae family. It is also known as pearl grass, nightclub grass, and yin and yang grass. It is an annual herb and the whole plant is used as medicine. It is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine. It was first recorded in "The Preparation of Herbal Medicines" and has the effects of calming the liver, clearing heat, diuresis and detoxification. It is mainly used among Chinese people to treat malnutrition, jaundice, hepatitis, enteritis, dysentery, nephritis, edema, snake bites and other diseases in children. Phyllantin belongs to the arylbutane class, which is the simplest class of lignans in structure. In the process of plant biosynthesis, this type of lignan is the building block for the synthesis of other types of lignans, from which it can be converted into other types of lignans.

Biological activity:

Phyllanthin is the main bioactive lignan component of Phyllanthusamarus. Phyllanthin has high antioxidant and hepatoprotective effects.
